A workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE)

A workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE) was held on 15 May 2022 (Saturday) at the University of Global Village (UGV). University's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a day-long workshop. In-house OBE expert, Professor Md. Farid Ahmed conducted the workshop, the faculty members and senior leadership of the University attended the workshop. The workshop was part of UGV's efforts to build institutional capacity to achieve its vision of becoming a leading skill based university in Bangladesh. Mentionable that OBE is a student-centric teaching and learning methodology, in which the course development, delivery, assessments are planned to achieve Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Result-focused and Time-bound (SMART) objectives and outcomes. The participants of the workshop acquired in-depth knowledge on the OBE process including hands-on practice on how to design curriculum, instruction and assessment of different academic programs and the mapping of the outcomes. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of BOT Dr. Md. Imarn Chowdhury, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice Chancellor of UGV Professor Dr. Md Adbul Aziz and Treasurer Professor Dr. Syed Ali Molla and acting Registrar Md. Lokman Khan lauded IQAC's initiative and thanked all participants for completing an enlightening and thought-provoking workshop on OBE. They urged all to reflect on the learnings from the workshop and implement the OBE methodology in UGV's academic activities to benefit the students and achieve the vision of the University to become a global center of excellence for skill based learning.
