Bachelor of Arts (Hon's) in English
The English Honours Program encourages innovative thinking. It is designed to allow strong English majors to engage in independent undergraduate research and writing projects as members of a vibrant intellectual community. English Honours students learn advanced research methodologies and develop individual research projects on issues, texts, and ideas that capture their intellects and imaginations. The program guides dedicated English majors like you through the process of developing independent work. So Honours students receive more mentoring and individual attention than is possible in the general undergraduate program. The B.A honours in English program also creates a small community of students with shared interests and goals; Honours students often get better acquainted with each other than do students in larger classes. Most importantly, English Honours students develop advanced skills in writing, textual analysis, and research and produce an original, independent Honours thesis.
